Synopsis Biography Intel's data centres are at the heart of Intel's massive worldwide computing environment, which includes more than 240,000 network nodes and carries an average 137 million e-mail messages and 166 terabytes of WAN traffic each month. Business needs are growing rapidly, increasing the demands on Intel's data centre resources. While server requirements are expected to grow at 15 to 23% a year, energy costs - typically around 10% of an IT budget-could account for 50% of the average IT budget in just a few years.
