What does the Fourth Industrial Revolution have to do with the Department of Transport? For the University of Johannesburg’s Dr Tebogo Bokaba, it’s all about the data. In fact, her passion for information – and later 4IR – precedes her university research. Before joining UJ, she worked as a computing technician and, later, trained to become a business analyst. “In that area, I was working with data management and realised that I have a love for data and numbers, but also for using data to assist people to uncover hidden patterns or certain information about their domain of expertise,” she says.

“In order to get meaningful information out of data, it has to be analysed.”
