Multinational ICT companies and the BEE charter working group are putting their heads together to tackle the vexed issue of the sale of equity to local shareholders.
Progress in formulating a fourth draft of the ICT black economic empowerment charter is on hold while the working group waits for multinationals to make submissions to a committee set up to handle the controversial equity issue.
A meeting between the working group and multinationals at the beginning of June resulted in the committee being set up to tackle the difficulties facing multinationals in relation to the sale of equity and other issues.
