How Africa is making renewable energy work

The rise of renewable energy is casting a long shadow over legacy infrastructure in Africa.

According to the World Economic Forum, 650 million Africans still live without access to energy, and as a result, they also use more biofuels than the rest of the world.

“I consider Africa the leading light in the journey towards renewable energy solutions. So I decided to get involved in sustainable energy because I saw the potential it holds,” says Lelo Mdhladhla, the chief marketing officer at PowerX, a South African-based renewable energy trader.
