Ubuntu coming to more brands

Mark Shuttleworth, Canonical founder and the philanthropic driving force behind Ubuntu Linux at the Ubuntu Live conference held in the USA last month, confirmed that the free and open source operating system will almost surely be making its way onto other OEM hardware as a pre-installed option in the near future.

Up until now, the primary source for Ubuntu-preloaded systems has been Dell, which decided to provide the market with this option when spurred on by user demand. While Shuttleworth didn't mention any names, it seems that Dell's success with its Ubuntu PCs has got other vendors scrambling for a slice of the same pie.
