How is your role changing?
Modibedi Oliphant, Group CIO at Prostar Paints: The expectations have changed. Back in the day, we were told what to do. As the head of IT, there was an expectation that you had to stabilise the ICT space and solve technology-related problems. Senior managers, boards and business owners have different expectations from us. Now, profit and loss are part of my day-to-day job. I should be able to account and say, ‘These are the sales I’ve generated’.
