It’s not often that you get a stony silence when you ask CIOs for their opinion on a certain technology. Normally they’re happy to talk about the exciting plans they’re making, or why they’ve decided to avoid a particular trend because it doesn’t suit their business needs.

But ask about cloud computing, and the response is the same as you’d get if you tried to extract their secret user name and password. If you are a CIO and you’re ambivalent about cloud computing, you’re clearly not alone.
