Regional office paying off for smartphone manufacturer

With all the talk of recession across the globe, the one light on our horizon has been that South Africa, as an emerging economy, will emerge from this mess in a much better state than many other countries. A central reason for this positive outlook, according to analysts, is the effect deregulation will have on our telecoms sector – an area predicted to grow faster than any other in our economy.

Many businesses are hoping to use this dynamic to their advantage, and there are some for whom the situation is merely an added advantage. One of these is Research in Motion (RIM), the company behind BlackBerry.
