An eight-year partnership has transformed the lives of over 400 unemployed youth and played an important role in building South Africa’s technology talent pipeline. Not resting on its laurels, the partnership between Absa and The Digital Academy continues to blossom with new learnership offerings, including a programme launched last year for the hearing-impaired, the Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD) programme.

“We recognise the value and business impact The Digital Academy provides,” says Michelle Anderson, Head: Information and Technology Strategy and Group Partnerships. “Through its practical approach, the academy stimulates real-world software solutions based on challenges presented by the Absa team and the products created by The Digital Academy have commercial intent. These products provide Absa with a sandbox to prototype ideas while retaining IP."
