A February report from the World Wide Fund for Nature says the European Union, one of the biggest global trading blocks, is dumping its carbon load on countries like ours so that they can remain compliant with international climate commitments.
The report EU Consumption, Global Pollution argues that goals to reduce EU emissions by 50-80% by 2050 are “pointless” if this is done through pollution displacement that takes place by importing CO2-intensive products from the rest of the world.
