Scoping out HP’s sustainability
HP has a number of plans to reduce its carbon footprint.
28 October 2022
By now, everyone knows that sustainability is a top concern, and this is especially true of the large IT vendors, all of which talk a good game when it comes to how responsibly they’re behaving.
HP Inc. has committed to becoming netzero by 2040, and plans on cutting its absolute emissions in half by 2030. It’s also planning on getting 75% of its raw materials from circular sources, which is a system that aims to reduce waste, and keep the resources circulating through the economy. Apple, on the other hand, wants to have net-zero emissions by 2030, while Dell wants to get this done by 2050. It’s not entirely helpful to compare these timelines, however, as the companies differ in size and have different business models.
