Confidence in the cloud
In many organisations, managing cybersecurity was already a challenge – adding the cloud has only widened the potential attack surface.

The rapid growth in cloud adoption has driven the need for better cloud security solutions. From flexible capacity to scalability, increased agility and improved availability, there’s no doubt that the cloud has delivered on its promised business outcomes, but security remains a barrier to cloud adoption. Looking at Fortinet’s ‘Cloud Security Report for 2023’, misconfiguration is the biggest cloud security threat, with 43% of respondents saying that there are more security risks with the cloud compared to on-prem. In the next 18 months, it’s predicted that over 58% of organisations will be running more than half of their workloads in the cloud.
“Cloud security is not a one-size-fits-all solution; it’s a complex ecosystem of physical fortifications, advanced network protocols, and vigilant monitoring,” says Deon Stroebel, LSD Open’s CCO. “The leading cloud providers invest heavily in multi-layered security strategies, ranging from biometric-controlled datacentres to state-of-the-art encryption methods. This robust approach aims to offer an impenetrable shield that safeguards not just their infrastructure, but also the sensitive data and applications of businesses worldwide.”
