I’m flustered and late for my interview with Nerushka Bowan, delayed by a fuss being kicked up over an article I’d written. It’s an awkward start, especially when I have to take a call from a concerned editor to explain why I’m right and the complainant is an ass. Bowan is brilliant, calming my jitters and dismissing the spurious allegations. She laughs when I tell her that I’ll respond to the complainant with the intimidating words: “My lawyer Nerushka Bowan says…”
