Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

How company leaders are moulding corporate culture, just not always in the way you think they do.

You’ve probably come across, at some time or another, people who own pets that look a little bit like small versions of themselves. Your eyes don’t deceive you: it’s a well-documented phenomenon that humans are often selective like that, and, when presented with a choice, will pick out the animals or even, sometimes, objects that reminds them of themselves.

So it should come as no surprise, especially not to anyone who has actually worked for a living, that companies and their CEOs go together like a nightclub bouncer and a pitbull, although the correlations between leader behaviour and company culture are far from superficial, and influence all kinds of decisions on a day-to-day basis. In other words, if you’ve ever wondered how different your job could be with a different (read better) boss, the answer is, probably a lot.
