Quiet quitting? About time…

The internet fad should hit a real nerve.

What is the purpose of work? I'm currently reading James Suzman's book, Work: A History Of How We Spend Our Time, and it turns out to be a fascinating question. Work is essentially activity, the process of expending (or moving) energy. The big difference is whether you want to do the activity or not. As they say, love what you do, and you'll never work a day in your life.

Well, many people don't even like what they do, and everyone's tasks involve something that doesn't qualify for love. You may live for the thrill of selling cars, but it's unlikely you have the same passion for the subsequent paperwork. I'd say work is what needs to be done, regardless of how you feel about it. Buck up, square that chin and get stuck into it. Else you are just lazy!
