Sita CEO still unnamed
Government conference GovTech looks set to be hosted by a headless Sita if an announcement for a new CEO isn`t made soon.
01 September 2007
Having her hands full with the snowball effects of the public service strike, among other problems in the ministry, minister of Public Service and Administration Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi is expected to announce the appointment of the new CEO for State Information and Technology Agency (Sita) soon.
Pressure is mounting on the ministry to make the announcement, as the agency was scheduled to host its second GovTech conference at the end of August. Although no deadline has been set for the announcement, industry players have hinted that proceeding with the conference with an acting CEO would not do Sita any favours.
Speaking at a media conference preceding GovTech 2007, Sita's chief of business operations Noedine Isaacs-Mpulo said she could not give any indication on when the CEO announcement may be expected as the matter now rests with the minister.
