There is a large and vibrant ICT industry in the Western Cape, but most of the companies are still tiny.

The recent census of ICT companies in the Western Cape highlighted the strengths and vulnerability of a fickle industry situated far from its desired target markets.

Conducted under the patronage of the Cape IT Initiative and the government of the Western Cape, the census is the first of its kind for the province and possibly the first in the country.
