There is in fact very little to support the opinion that South Africa is not, and will not, be ready. We have a proven track record in hosting global events, having already successfully hosted both the rugby and cricket world cups, as well as the African Cup of Nations and the World Summit on Sustainable Development, so there is no doubt we know what we are doing.
