Long wait for WiMax almost over
Companies planning to deploy WiMax should be on the lookout for regulations byIcasa outlining how it plans to allocate spectrum.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) said it expected to complete its review of the allocation of WiMax wireless broadband infrastructure spectrum in the 2.6GHz and 3.5GHz band in April.
The regulator would then publish regulations regarding the criteria and processes through which it will allocate spectrum, providing a framework for which licensed communications providers may apply.
