Skills retention and fostering employee development in South Africa is a conversation more complex than simply spending money on incentives to achieve IT knowledge management and continuity.

Nomonde White-Ndlovu, Bidvest Bank CIO, says the company is competing for skills, and for her staff, earning in pounds, euros or dollars is an attractive option. Cybersecurity skills, in particular, are in demand, she adds, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to hire senior staff.
