A good bet

With plenty of potential in the driverless car market, semiconductor player Analog Devices is on course for a successful future.

23 February 2023

The focus for this month’s column is not a plucky young media-darling startup bravely finding its feet; in fact, Analog Devices, which is probably not well known by many, was founded back in 1965, but its reach is far and wide. Today, ADI, as it’s known on the NASDAQ, generates annual revenues of $12 billion, with an annual income of $2.75 billion and has a healthy market capitalisation of $87 billion.

ADI plays in the semiconductor space, particularly at the ‘intelligent edge’ where physical and digital worlds intersect. It designs, manufactures, tests and markets integrated circuits, software and subsystems that leverage analogue, mixed signal and digital signal processing technologies.
