Centennial Software displays mobile solution at Futurex
Centennial Software, developer of asset management and end-point security solutions, has shown Futurex visitors the functionality of DeviceWall, which helps organisations manage the security of mobile devices, data and desktops on the corporate network.

Key to its recently unveiled DeviceWall 4.0 is the ability to automatically encrypt data to USB drives, securing what is traditionally a highly insecure storage format. Using industry-standard encryption tools, together with corporate and personal keys, DeviceWall 4.0 protects the data in transit. This ensures company-secret files remain safe even if the USB drive falls into the wrong hands.
Brian Little, vice president Africa at Centennial Software, says to provide a more granular level of control over the use of different types of removable media devices in the workplace, DeviceWall 4.0 is able to recognise individual devices.
“This allows administrators to build a ‘white list` of corporate-approved devices and ensure authorised staff only use devices specifically provided by the organisation. Left uncontrolled, mobile devices are a massive security risk that can render millions of dollars of IT security investment useless,” adds Little.
