On 29 November 2006, Standard Bank’s director for IT security, Pat Pather, spoke to ITWeb Informatica about the risks of a proliferation of new banking channels. “We cannot refuse anyone access via, say, an Internet café. The best we can do is to caution that it must be a last resort only. We propose using only the proper channels (such as ATMs, cellphone banking and own-PC Net banking), and following correct procedures when doing so.”
