"Whenever I talk about zero trust, I don’t start with what it is, but what it isn’t,” says Ian Farquhar, field CTO at Gigamon. “Zero trust isn’t a product or a product feature, it’s not a specific architecture or blueprint, it’s not business as usual, or a solution that can be provided by a single vendor. “And it’s not a concept that will disappear.”

He says he wants to challenge the preconceptions about zero trust, as it’s much more interesting than any of those things.
