What is LCR?

Least-cost routing is a system whereby an operator installs a bank of SIM cards, or a premicell, at a customer's premises. Whenever a call is made, software determines which network the call is destined for, e.g. MTN's, and routes the call out through a SIM card from that operator so that the call is always an on-net call and customers benefit from the lowest possible call cost.
