Government’s infrastructure spending is a boon to some companies, as other sectors freeze spend.

South African companies have felt the squeeze of the global economic crisis and many have either put projects on hold, or cancelled them altogether. As a result, some ICT groups are looking to government spending to partially fill that void.

The government, according to this year’s budget speech, will spend close to R800 billion on infrastructure as it improves roads and railways and bolsters electricity production over the medium term.
