One farmer, one bank

In a quest to make financial services accessible to all South Africans, the Financial Services Charter stipulates banking facilities must be available within 20km of any household. Although much has been done by the financial services sector to realise this goal, only 12 000 ATMs to date have been installed to serve 43 million people. What`s more, half of them are either inside or outside a bank branch, which leaves only 6 000 deployed elsewhere.
