As long ago as 1989, the movie Back to the Future II painted a picture of life with autonomous flying cars in it. The year was 2015, and the world pictured in the movie was a totally different place to the one we lived through just five years ago.
Flying cars, for example, have, pardon the pun, yet to get off the ground. The same is true for self-driving cars, which are in various stages of development by the likes of Uber, Google, Tesla, and Waymo, among others, halted due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
