The enthusiasm Michelle Lissoos brings to her work is infectious, as is her passion for using technology to improve the lives of marginalised learners.
Lissoos is the founder and director of the iSchoolAfrica Education Trust. In early March, she was in Vienna to accept a UN Project Zero Award, which this year is focused on employment, and ICT. A BA in French, English and Industrial Psychology from Wits University and a decade of working in advertising in Johannesburg and London has given Lissoos the skillset to engage with stakeholders and ensure her company’s success. “I believe in access equity and inclusion. When I’m at the schools and I see the difference we’re making through technology, I’m even more motivated.” Her company has rolled out sustainable education technology solutions to over 300 schools in under-resourced areas and communities.
