Education takes a digital leap
Most South African schools are still heavily reliant on textbooks but one school has forged ahead and implemented a tablet system for its pupils.

While the full implementation of e-learning and the rollout of tablets for pupils in South African schools is still a pipe dream for many, some schools are taking the digital leap. With the recent launch of ZABooks, which provides a range of textbooks in digital format on the iPad, it seems a change is coming in South African education, albeit slowly.
The Crawford group of schools is making the move towards implementing iPads in the classroom. Crawford Preparatory, Fourways, piloted the e-learning system during 2012, and then began implementation in 2013 with particular grades.
