The introduction of smart devices for mobile enterprise business applications on corporate networks has brought with it significant IT management.

Smart phones, in particular, have very specific requirements for the IT organisation with respect to provisioning, co-management with cell phone operators, asset inventory, configuration management and software life cycle.

These devices are now being furnished with corporate data, some of which can be of a sensitive nature and the phones, by their nature and sizes, present certain security risks in situations where they are either lost or stolen.
