I love London. This is dreadfully unfashionable of me, I know, but I just adore the place. There’s something about its streets, thronged with every shape, size and species of human imaginable, that have seen so much history, so many heroes and villains, politicians and poets, scoundrels and stars.

It’s impossible to get a real look around London on a short trip, but there are a number of things that a first-time visitor really must do to get a feel for this ancient city.
