White Noise

Bullish or just plain bull?

SAP Africa can only be described as being exceptionally positive about company prospects.

01 June 2006

SAP, the big ERP vendor, says it will become the accepted standard in enterprise applications. It wasn`t widely picked up by the local ICT media, even though SAP Africa chief executive Claas Kuehnemann made a bold claim by saying: “The company`s performance over the past year or so suggests that we`re at the tipping point to becoming the accepted standard in enterprise solutions.”

Backing up his assertions, Kuehnemann says SAP`s latest peer review shows SAP`s global market share at 62 percent. However, independent data casts doubt on this number. He also detailed global and EMEA sales revenues, “a strong line up of launches”, and the fact that the business applications industry is still “coming to terms with the wave of consolidation of the past couple of years”.
