So let us put this issue to bed once and for all by stating that SITA has done its own research, as well as consulting other major studies and white papers, and there is no doubt whatsoever that the skills shortage is real! It is not some kind of urban myth. Simply put, we simply do not have sufficient ICT skills to power the economy and to allow for the sustainability of the numerous big IT projects in government, such as the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS).
