South Africa is one of the most targeted countries in the world for cyber attacks and that picture is not about to change. This is the era where the CISO sits at the boardroom table and where budget for protection is no longer at the bottom of the agenda.

At the top of the list of the risks touted for South Africa are critical infrastructure blackouts such as the present power disruptions or failures of ageing dams, bridges and rail tracks. Cyber incidents are ranked second and business interruption, which includes supply chain, is in third place.
