DataPro could not have chosen a better time to list its shares on the JSE`s alternative exchange, AltX.

Financial director James Herbst says the liberalisation of the country`s telecommunications policies had the effect of increasing DataPro`s market 30-fold. The fact that the minister`s announcement came as the company was preparing for a listing made DataPro`s carefully planned prospectus almost meaningless, with its projections, short-term strategies and budgets drawn up with no inkling of the pending liberalisation.
