South Africans do not see the environment as a significant global threat, according to the International Survey on Global Attitudes recently published by the Pew Research Centre in the United States.

Alongside Kenya and Mali, South Africa placed 41 out of 47 countries when respondents were asked to rank what they considered to be the most significant global threat from a list that included nuclear weapons, ethnic hatred, environmental factors, the wealth gap, and HIV/ Aids.
