It’s a sign of the times that there has been a huge amount of gossip and speculation on the internet about something called ‘Google Me’. The reason why this gossip is so iconic is that it started with a ‘rogue’ tweet from Kevin Rose, co-founder of Digg.

The tweet was quickly and widely reported in June and the existence of Google Me (as people think it might be called) was given further credibility when a former Facebook executive stated that he believed it is real and Google has “a large number of people working on it”.
