Murray & Roberts’ CIO Hilton Currie knew that IT was going to be his career, but the key to his success has been his appetite for gaining new skills outside of technology.
Currie says he always advises young people interested in a career in IT not to specialise too soon, and to be open to any opportunities that might come their way. “But, at the same time, you need to start thinking about where you want to end up, or your career won’t come together,” he adds.
