The lockdown in hindsight
When faced with an immediate and lengthy lockdown, the public sector encountered a range of challenges. Looking back now, government entities discuss these difficulties, and the lessons learned.

As the world has been dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic for nearly a year now, it’s easy to forget the speed with which it raced around the globe and the immediacy of the need for a nationwide lockdown. This created particularly significant challenges for public sector organisations, most of which tend to operate on a predominantly face-to-face basis.
Not only did the need to switch to remote working significantly impact government’s abilities to deliver the services expected of it, but it also raised questions around digital readiness, capacity, public sector priorities and the need to accelerate certain digital plans, in order to be able to face the threat more effectively.
