After more than a year of testing, communications regulator Icasa has finally implemented geographic number portability (GNP), and Neotel is wasting no time in trumpeting the news.

Neotel stands to gain more than any other operator with the implementation of GNP and has long crowed those opportunities porting could bring to its table. However, it remains to be seen whether or not the GNP solution will end up being as much of a fiasco as its mobile counterpart was.
