Coming of age
Some years ago, few people had heard of AsusTek Computer, or Asus as it`s commonly called. Those who had used its products were somewhat disillusioned as the quality, in some instances, left much to be desired.

Asus is principally engaged in the provision of computers, communications and consumer electronics solutions. The company, which distributes its products globally, offers desktop motherboards, server motherboards, 3D graphics display cards, audio cards, laptops, servers, ultra mobile PCs, mobile telephones, LCD monitors, broadband products, pocket PCs, peripherals, optical storages and the Eee PC.
In 2007, Asus sold approximately 59 million motherboards and 7.1 million notebook computers. As of 31 December 2007, the company had 19 wholly owned subsidiaries.
