Quirk eMarketing is a marketing agency. It does digital. And thanks to the convergence of digital and everything else, it’s increasingly being asked to do above-the-line work too, says Quirk agency head Justin Spratt . “We’ve just done our third TV commercial, and we’ve done a bit of radio.” Spratt says the company is increasingly competing with the Ogilvys and DraftFCBs of the world. Not bad for a company that started life in its founder’s varsity digs.

“We turned 13 in March and now have offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and London,” says Spratt . “I manage 204 people across three agencies. The rest of the group includes Quirk Education [which publishes the famous eMarketing textbook], BrandsEye, and IdeaBounty, which Stokes runs [as Quirk group CEO].
