A possible new tablet war?

Microsoft has finally announced its entry into the tablet market with the Microsoft Surface. It’s been long overdue and Microsoft is promising the Surface is serious competition to the iPad and other Android tablets already available. The Surface comes with a keyboard, trackpad and stand – all of which are third-party accessories for the iPad, so that is already a feather in the Microsoft cap. But it is going to take more than this to steal some tablet market share. The Surface’s price, availability, access to thirdparty applications and build quality will all come into play when users decide between the Surface and any other tablet.

Motorola Defy Mini – Perfect for first-time smartphone users

Following the launch of the Motorola Defy comes the Defy Mini, a cheaper, less powerful version of the Defy. The Defy Mini features a 3.2-inch TFT capacitive Corning Gorilla Glass touch display that is scratch- and dust-resistant. The pre-installed Android 2.3.6 operating system is powered by a 600MHz CPU, which is coupled with 512MB of RAM and an additional 512MB of storage space. It also features a rear-facing 3.15MP camera and a front-facing VGA camera, which adds up to a neat entry-level smartphone at a neat price.
