Oracle`s Fusion solution

After it spent 18 months acquiring PeopleSoft, Oracle revealed its surprising new Project Fusion. Centring on industry-standard development, it should strengthen the company`s standing in the connected enterprise environment of the future.

With the acquisition of PeopleSoft finally complete, enterprise software house Oracle is now faced with the thorny problem of maintaining not only its own suite of products, but also the complete JD Edwards and PeopleSoft lines. This is a mammoth task, even for an organisation that employs some 14 000 developers.

But in the year-and-a-half spent acquiring this technology, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and his team have been cooking up a solution for this dilemma. Shortly after the acquisition was concluded, Ellison revealed "Project Fusion", which he maintains will be the core focus of the enormous software group for the years ahead.
