National Women’s Day serves as a powerful reminder of the courage demonstrated by the women of every background who marched on the Union Buildings in 1956 to protest against the extension of pass laws to women. This day now recognises, celebrates and pays tribute to the impact South Africa’s women have on a daily basis by mentoring, guiding and lifting up other women and people impacted by stereotyping and discrimination to achieve their full potential and bring their uniqueness and value into the workplace and communities.
Women leaders in the ICT industry gathered at Marble Restaurant, in Rosebank, on 8 August to share their insights and experiences, learn from others how they can thrive in a still male-dominated industry and remember those women in whose footsteps they walk today.
