The opening day of the 2009 State IT Agency (Sita) GovTech conference, held in Durban in mid-September, set the tone for the remaining days at the three-day conference.
The address by chairperson Zodwa Manase, who spoke of the move towards citizen-centric solutions, indicated just how far off the path the agency had veered. The new focus marked a return to a strategy focused on getting the basics right.
