Masdar City, planned for construction in Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s richest countries, and slated to be completed by 2016, is so grand in scale that it has been described as being like the trailer to a Hollywood movie.
Unlike most plans to retro-fit cities to make them more environmentally- friendly, the $22-billion Masdar City will rise up out of the desert from scratch, eventually housing 50,000 residents and 1,500 businesses. It’s more striking features include:
