Red teams have a superficial appearance of glamour, but, in reality, a red team only needs to have one success whereas blue teams have to be at the top of their game 24/7. It follows that, to be effective, blue teams need to contain individuals with a special (and rare) set of skills.

To begin with, they need to have staying power. Not for them to have quick bursts of energy to penetrate the defences; as any soldier will tell you, its defence that tests not only a team’s skills, but also its endurance.
