One such person is Kutlwano Chaba, chief digital officer (CDO) of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), who says digital technology and customised innovation is critical to value creation and central to responding to local government challenges and opportunities.
“At SALGA, our role involves facilitating municipalities to be efficient internally, which requires us to be the backbone of all local governments’ ability to deliver diverse information, information available at your fingertips,” says Chaba. “We are the enablers of collaboration, interfaces of all members involved and addressing support services, sharing the lessons we have learned in the technology space, encompassing process control, automation, access to data and change management.
